Calgary to Vancouver

I have driven Calgary to Vancouver many times and here are a few stops on the way that you can explore.

  • Spiral Tunnels
The tunnel structure
Train entering tunnel
Train seen like a snake going in and out of tunnel
  • Golden
The Bridge when we are nearing Golden town
  • Golden Sky Bridge

Its a great place to spend half a day. There are 2 suspension bridges which are really high above the ground. You have to cross the mountains using one bridge and come back using the other bridge. For the adventure hearts there is zip line across the mountains.

  • Tunnels between Golden and Revelstoke

There are 8 tunnels, after first 5 then a bit of break before the last 3 comes.

  • Revelstoke

An evening walk at Revelstoke

  • Pipe mountain coaster at Revelstoke

It goes only upto max 50km/hr and it also depends on how fast the person in front of you is going. If you are a group of people going at a good pace, its really fun. We bought tickets after reaching there and didn’t book online earlier. More info at https://www.revelstokemountainresort.com/summer/summer-activities/the-pipe-mountain-coaster/

  • Sky Trek Adventure, Revelstoke

An aerial adventure park with different expertise level. https://skytrekadventurepark.com/

  • Dutchman Diary at Sicamous – A great pit stop for amazing ice cremes
  • Pebble Beach – Sorento
  • Salmon Arm

On many of our Calgary Vancouver drives we stay at Salmon Arm Comfort Inns and Suits. There are nice places to go for a walk in Salmon Arm, near the waterfront (Shuswap lake) there is a bird sanctuary

Berry farm at Chilliwack
  • Abbotsford Tulip Festival

Its usually happenings in April. Check the website for accurate info every year https://www.lakelandflowers.ca/

  • Bridal Veil Falls

A quick hike but pretty steep. Totally doable for all skill levels but take your time. The hike to the falls is through pretty thick forest and the falls are really majestic. The day we went was raining and it was foggy. we couldn’t see clearly the top of the falls and the forest was pretty foggy giving a mysterious and magical atmosphere !

The last steep section to come closer to the falls
  • Cultus waterpark, adventure park and lake

Cultus waterpark has rides for all ages. Its a really fun place to spend half a day

There is an adventure park as well. Not too many rides but there are rides of all skill levels
