July 2025

This park is right outside Moab town which has a wide range of hotels and RV parks. The scenic drive inside the park is about 18mile along. We had one single day to explore this park, and we had to pick and choose the spots we were visiting.
Below are the stops we made. I would have loved to do 2 other hikes if I had another day (landscape arch and Delicate arch)
- Park avenue
- Courthouse towers
- Balanced rock
- Garden of Eden
- North and South window arches
- Turret Arch
- Double arch, my favorite of the lot
- Skyline arch
- Sand Dune arch
- Delicate arch viewpoint (this is a viewpoint and not the hike to the arch itself)

The Drive to Park Avenue

Park Avenue
Park avenue offers a majestic, spectacular view of the giant mountains. There is a great trail there but we sticked to the view point this time, trying to cover as many view points and arches in a single day.

Courthouse Towers

Fallen Arch

Balanced Rock
Its a quick short walk around the balanced rock

Garden of Eden

North and South window arches
A short walk to the north window arch. Take the trail to go behind the north window arch to see both arches together

Turret Arch
This one is a short walk opposite to the north window arch.

Double arch
This was my favorite arch among the ones we were able to visit in a day. Its a short walk from the window arches

Skyline arch
Just saw it from the viewpoint due to lack of time and didn’t attempt to climb to the arch

Broken Arch
Viewed from far. There is an easy walk path to reach the arch.

Sand Dune arch
The path to this arch is full of soft sand like in a beach. Sand is formed from the erosion of these sandstone rock formations.

Delicate arch view point
One of the most iconic hike and arch in this national park is delicate arch. We didn’t have time to do this hike but found a shorter hike to a viewpoint of delicate arch. The surrounding mountains in this area have greenish blue rock and it comes from the Jurassic past where the iron from volcano mixed with sediments in the river that gave this unique color. There also seems to be white rocks (maybe quartz) in these mountains.
