In school I have learned about oxbow lake but never seen one before. Horseshoe bend is not exactly an oxbow lake but is U shaped still connected to the Colorado river. Oxbow lakes are U shaped and is cut off from the main river.

It’s a 1.2 km walk from parking lot to see this beauty ! I did risk my life to go to edge of the cliff to take some of these pics 😬 but my son kept reminding me to be careful and move back.

It’s a 10min drive from Page town to this viewpoint
