In the Summer of 2025 (July), we decided to do a road trip from Calgary Canada to Dallas, US for my son’s Ninja world championship. We covered 10,100kms, 7 states, 5 National parks and a tourist town in this trip. The overall trip was 22 days out of which 7 days was mostly for the ninja championship and we didn’t explore anything much in New Mexico and Texas. So, if that leg of the trip is removed these places I visited can be covered in 13 days. Grand Canyon was only an hr. away from our route but we kept that for another time as it needs more days to explore it well.
We always plan budget travelling. The overall cost of this trip was less than 6k CAD including fuel, food, stays and all expenses. We usually carry cooked food at beginning of trip and in between cook and load the coolers once or twice.
